Statement of Faith
I. The sixty-six canonical books of the Bible, as initially written, are divinely inspired and without error. They serve as the sole infallible authority for faith and conduct.
II. There is one God, the Creator and Sustainer of everything, infinite in existence and perfection. He exists eternally in three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—who share one essence and are equal in power and glory.
III. Man, made in God's image, fell from his sinless state due to Satan's temptation. This fall resulted in sin and spiritual death, condemning all humanity to eternal death. Salvation is possible only through God's grace, faith in Christ's atoning work, and the Holy Spirit's power.
IV. The eternal Son, existing from the beginning, became human by being born of the Virgin Mary without a human father. In Jesus Christ, divine and human natures are united in one Person, with each nature remaining full, perfect, and distinct. For salvation, He led a sinless life and died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, shedding His blood to forgive sins. On the third day, He rose bodily from the dead. He then ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He intercedes on our behalf. He will return personally and visibly to complete His saving work and fulfill God's eternal plan.
V. The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Triune God. He applies Christ's work to humanity. Through justification and adoption, humans receive a right standing before God; through regeneration, sanctification, and glorification, their nature is renewed.
VI. The believer, having turned to God in repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, is responsible for living a life that is free from sin and bears the fruit of the Spirit. He is also expected to actively promote the spread of the Gospel through both words and actions.
VII. At the end of the age, the bodies of the dead will be resurrected. The righteous will then enter into full Possession of eternal bliss in God's presence, while the wicked face eternal death.
Community Life Statement
– We affirm that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the ultimate authority guiding our values, attitudes, and conduct in all relationships.
– We aim to promote spiritual maturity by encouraging a personal devotional routine and active participation in community worship and prayer.
– We aim to uphold the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace, accepting one another in love with gentleness, patience, and humility. – We aim to inspire each other to grow in Christ-like maturity by striving to speak the truth in love across our classrooms, business dealings, social interactions, and all other aspects of our shared life. – Our goal is to foster family unity through responsible relationships. We also seek to honor and celebrate our uniqueness in Christ, embracing diverse denominations, races, cultures, personalities, experiences, gifts, and goals. Furthermore, we aim to actively participate with the Church, both individually and collectively, to meet spiritual and social needs within our community and beyond.
– We abandon attitudes like greed, jealousy, false pride, lust, bitterness, hostility, unforgiveness, and prejudices rooted in race, sex, or socio-economic status.
– We reject actions like distorting God’s Word, deception, dishonesty, drunkenness, theft, and sexual immorality—including premarital sex, adultery, and homosexual acts.
– We believe that when conflict or sin happens within the METS/STEM community, a biblical process like the one in Matthew 18:15-20 should be used to seek correction, forgiveness, restitution, and reconciliation.
– We aim to practice mutual submission as aligned with Christ's mindset, understanding that sometimes we must set aside our personal rights and preferences for the sake of others’ consciences and the well-being of the community.
– We aim to promote the development of spiritual qualities such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
